During the UX/UI Design course at Fastweb Digital Academy, my team and I tackled a real-world challenge proposed by Foodly, a social enterprise committed to fighting food waste. Our goal was to design an app that would help families better manage food at home, reducing waste in a simple and accessible way.

GOAL
⁕
Design a digital solution that simplifies food organization within the household and optimizes its consumption, even for those with limited time or little experience in managing food at home.
APPROACH
⁕
We followed an iterative 5-step process:
User Research & Qualitative Questionnaires
We designed and distributed a questionnaire to collect data on food habits and household food management practices.Analysis & User Journey Map
After analyzing the results, we created user personas and a user journey map to identify key pain points and opportunities.Idea Generation & Priority Matrix
As a team, we brainstormed ideas and evaluated them using a priority matrix to select the most impactful and feasible solutions.User Flow, Wireframing & Usability Testing
We defined the app’s main user flows, created low-fidelity wireframes, and conducted usability tests to gather feedback and validate our assumptions.Low-Fidelity Prototype & Revision
Finally, we reviewed and refined the wireframes based on usability testing, and we created a low-fidelity prototype to prepare the project for the next phase: the visual design
OUTCOME
⁕
The project culminated in a functional low-fidelity prototype of an app designed to help users:
Track food expiration dates
Receive tailored suggestions to minimize food waste
Plan grocery shopping more efficiently
Throughout the process, we applied key UX research and early concept design techniques, including qualitative research, user journey mapping, idea prioritization, and usability testing. Our approach maintained a consistent focus on user needs, simplicity, and social impact, ensuring the solution was both practical and meaningful.

NewsQuest is a project from the UI Design Master at Talent Garden. The brief challenged us to rethink how young adults consume news: passively, in fragments, and with skepticism. My team and I designed an app to foster active, dynamic news consumption and boost user retention.
